This product is also known as roselle powder, dried hibiscus powder, or hibiscus floral/petal powder.

Dried calyces. The hibiscus sabdariffa plant is a species of flowering plant that produces edible flowers and calyces.

Hibiscus, also known as Roselle, is a tropical annual shrub native to West Africa and commonly grown in Egypt and other warm areas. It reaches heights of 1-2 metres with slender stems and lance-shaped green leaves. The plant produces bright red calyces that enclose small flowers; these calyces are harvested at full maturity for their vibrant colour, natural shape, and firm texture.

The calyces grow in clusters along the stems, with thick, slightly ribbed structures. To preserve their deep red color and texture, they're harvested at peak maturity. After drying, the petals retain their vibrant color and natural appearance, making them suitable for grinding into a uniform powder. The resulting powder retains the plant's distinctive characteristics while providing a convenient form for use in cooking or blending.

The calyces are cleaned after harvesting to remove stems, dust, and other impurities. They are then dried using low-temperature methods that preserve their colour and texture. The dried material is milled into a fine powder, which is sieved to remove any large fragments, resulting in a clean, free-flowing ingredient suitable for use in various applications.

Hibiscus Powder can be used in a variety of ways, including tea blends, herbal formulas, food recipes, natural dyes, craft projects, cosmetics, displays, and educational materials. Its fine texture makes it easy to mix with other ingredients while preserving the plant's color and characteristics.
