Guava leaves are typically oblong or oval in shape, measuring 7-15 centimeters long and 3-5 centimeters wide. They have an opposite arrangement, growing in pairs at the same point on the stem, with short petioles connecting each leaf to the stem. The deep green leaves have a leathery texture, featuring faint white veins and occasional light brown markings. When crushed, guava leaves release a fragrant aroma reminiscent of the fruit itself. They grow on a small tree characterized by its wide-spreading branches and distinctive copper-colored bark that peels to reveal a green base.

How to use:

Hot Infusion:

To prepare dried herbs or flowers, combine 2-3 tablespoons of the dried material in a cup or teapot. Pour hot water over it, then cover and let steep for 10-30 minutes. This process helps extract antioxidants, enzymes, vitamins, flavonoids, and volatile oils from the botanicals. Strain and press to release as much liquid as possible before serving.

Tips:

  • Herbal teas can be sweetened using a variety of options, including honey, natural fruit juices, Stevia leaf powder, or Licorice root powder.
  • Freeze tea in an ice tray or pop mold to create ice cubes or pops.

Precautions:

Before using this herbal product, it is essential to consult with a qualified healthcare professional, especially if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or taking medication.
